QC Engineer - E&I (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering the plant industry from feasibility studies to engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and O&M, is hiring a full-time QC Engineer for its Taziz Methanol project in Abu Dhabi. The engineer plans and controls quality activities in the E&I discipline according to the QC Manager's quality management system, manages inspectors and carries out inspections and tests.

Key responsibilities

• Establish Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and ITP matrices and distribute tasks to inspectors
• Implement quality training for construction and quality staff and promote risk management with countermeasures
• Apply lessons learned and preventive actions, set quality performance indicators and coordinate corrective actions with other disciplines
• Liaise with clients on quality issues, NCRs and observations, and use FMCS and SCMS to manage work activities
• Conduct audits and inspections, identify and mitigate quality risks, and prepare quality procedures and method statements
• Support quality objectives with cost control and statistical data

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field
• Minimum 8 years as a QC Engineer on Oil & Gas projects, core in electrical activities, and at least 15 years combined in QC Engineer and inspector roles
• Experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or power plant projects and in engineering and construction companies in the GCC
• Knowledge or certification in COMPEX or TEX, and ISO Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification preferred

Required skills

• Electrical engineering: application of codes and standards (NEC, IEC), electrical system design, safety regulations, testing and commissioning
• Instrumentation engineering: design and installation of instruments, control systems and automation, calibration and testing (ISA, IEC)
• Expert knowledge of codes, standards and regulations, advanced inspection techniques and material testing methods
• Understanding of project management principles and ability to lead and motivate a team
