QHSE Superintendent

About the role

Astro Offshore is looking for a QHSE Superintendent to lead compliance, auditing, certification management, training and continuous improvement across its offshore and marine operations. The role ensures that vessels and office departments meet all maritime safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate internal and external audits for vessels, office departments and clients.
• Maintain and update ISM‑ISPS, MLC, CSR and ISO certifications for new vessels and takeovers.
• Lead the closure of audit findings and communicate corrective actions.
• Conduct ship‑shore drills, HSE training and awareness campaigns on vessels.
• Provide induction for new crew and staff, both online and in‑office.
• Support QHSE Manager with additional tasks and assist other Astro departments during supplier audits.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, auditors and classification societies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a marine, offshore or shore‑based QHSE role.
• NEBOSH IGC qualification (or equivalent HSE certification).
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma from a recognized institution.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
