Quality Control Inspector - Civil (Roads & Infrastructure)

About the role

SGS, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is hiring a full-time Quality Control Inspector for civil works on roads and infrastructure projects in Ras Al-Khaimah. The inspector reviews project documentation and carries out on-site inspections to verify that materials, equipment and workmanship meet project specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review project documentation, including material submittals, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements for civil, mechanical and electrical works, and give feedback to the Works Agency QA/QC Manager
• Inspect materials such as soil, aggregates, asphalt and concrete, and verify that construction follows approved drawings, specifications and codes
• Monitor earthworks, asphalt paving, concrete works, drainage pipes, culverts and manholes, retaining walls, bridges, tunnels and dams
• Take part in final inspections before handover

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in QC roles related to road and infrastructure construction
• Relevant certifications in construction quality control (e.g. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CSWIP, BGAS/ASNT, IEC, NEC or local standards)

Required skills

• Proficiency in material testing standards such as BS, ASTM and AASHTO
