About the role

The Quality Control Officer (Chemical) will join a greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Dubai Industrial City. Reporting to the Executive – QC, the officer will perform routine chemical and physical testing of raw materials, in‑process samples and finished products, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical and physical analyses on raw materials, intermediates and finished products following standard test procedures and pharmacopeial specifications.
  • Operate, calibrate and maintain analytical instruments such as HPLC, UV‑Vis spectrophotometer, FTIR and dissolution apparatus.
  • Document test results accurately in line with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and maintain laboratory cleanliness according to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Prepare and standardise reagents, solutions and volumetric preparations.
  • Identify, report and investigate deviations, non‑conformities or out‑of‑specification results.
  • Assist with method validation, transfer activities and internal audits.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and training sessions.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • 2‑5 years of experience in a Quality Control (Chemical) role within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to quality, compliance and teamwork.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with HPLC, UV‑Vis spectrophotometer, FTIR and dissolution testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of pharmacopeial standards (IP, BP, USP, EP) and cGMP regulations.
  • Experience in handling laboratory glassware and preparing reagents.
  • Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
