Quality Control Team Leader

About the role

The Quality Control Team Leader will drive the implementation and continuous improvement of project‑specific quality systems. Reporting to the QC Manager, you will ensure that all inspection, testing and documentation meet client and NMDC standards while supporting cost‑effective delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quality control, inspection and testing requirements for projects.
• Assist the QC Manager in developing project‑specific quality control systems, including ITP and RFI preparation.
• Oversee the implementation of quality control systems on site.
• Liaise with clients to obtain clearance for QA/QC, welding and NDT plans and resolve technical issues.
• Upgrade discipline‑specific QC procedures as directed.
• Review subcontractor QA/QC documentation during pre‑qualification, short‑listing and post‑award stages to ensure compliance with NMDC standards.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for inspection, NDT and welding staff to meet international certification requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in quality control within industrial or construction environments.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.

Required skills

• CSWIP 3.2.2 certification.
• NDT techniques: Radiographic Testing (RT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Visual Testing (VT).
• ASNT Level II certification.
• NACE Level II certification.
• IECEX personnel competency or equivalent.
• Experience with ITP and RFI systems.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC documentation and client clearance processes.
