Quantitative Developer – Systematic Equities

About the role

Millennium is seeking a senior Quantitative Developer to lead the design and implementation of core trading infrastructure for a new systematic equities pod. You will work closely with quantitative researchers and a senior portfolio manager to turn research ideas into production‑ready strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build and maintain low‑latency trading system components for data ingestion, signal generation, backtesting, execution and risk management.
• Lead a small team of developers and collaborate with quant researchers to translate strategy requirements into production code.
• Develop and optimise order execution systems, integrating with exchanges and broker APIs (FIX, DMA).
• Oversee data pipelines, ensuring high‑quality, low‑latency market and alternative data for research and trading.
• Manage deployment pipelines, version control, CI/CD and production support to guarantee high availability and rapid recovery.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience building high‑performance trading systems, preferably in systematic equities.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in distributed environments.
• Excellent communication skills to interact directly with quant researchers and traders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++ or C# for latency‑critical components.
• Strong Python skills for scripting, research integration and data tooling.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, multithreaded programming and SQL/database design.
• Experience with version control (Git), unit testing, CI/CD, logging and monitoring.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol, direct market access and order routing.
