Quantity Surveyor (Site)

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join its project site team. The role supports the Commercial Manager/SQS on all financial and contractual matters throughout the project, including measurement, payment certificates, claims and the final account.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Commercial Manager/SQS on all financial and contractual matters of the project and take part in commercial meetings.
• Record and help prepare minutes of progress meetings.
• Liaise with the Commercial Manager/SQS on contractors' monthly payment applications and help finalize payment certificates.
• Maintain and streamline cost and quantity records, and advise SREs and REs on measurement procedures and interim and final quantities.
• Evaluate unit rates for new work items and help prepare variation orders, dayworks recording and contractual claims.
• Monitor the contractor's resource allocation and check and record measurements of completed work.
• Review, negotiate and prepare claim settlements with the client and the engineer/PMC, and participate in preparing the final account.
• Help prepare monthly financial statements and audit payments to contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or civil engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying and contract administration on major infrastructure, utilities, bridges and irrigation projects in the UAE.
• Sound knowledge of contractual relationships.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, with strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Available in the UAE.

Required skills

• Full computer literacy, including data access, record keeping, reporting and project-specific engineering and construction software.
• Contract administration and quantity surveying.
