Regional Environmental & Social Coordinator – MENA (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Regional Environmental and Social (E&S) Coordinator will lead the compliance and sustainability efforts for onshore wind and solar projects across the MENA region. Reporting to the MENA HSSE Manager and the HQ E&S team in France, the role ensures that all project phases meet TotalEnergies standards and international lender requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate E&S activities across the hub, report weekly highlights, and participate in HQ HSSE meetings.
• Deploy and monitor implementation of TotalEnergies E&S standards, procedures, and sustainability programs.
• Support project development by ensuring compliance with local laws, international standards (IFC, EBRD, ADB), and conducting risk assessments and due‑diligence reviews.
• Supervise the preparation of E&S studies (ESIA, ESMP, SEP, RAP, BAP), define scopes, evaluate consultants, and control quality.
• Engage with authorities, lenders, and civil society to secure permits and maintain stakeholder relations.
• Prepare E&S requirements for contractors, review and approve management plans, and monitor mitigation measures during construction and operation.
• Conduct site inspections, support audits, and ensure continuous improvement of environmental and social performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in environmental and social compliance for renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of international standards such as IFC, EBRD, and ADB.
• Ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and coordinate across regions.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
