Registered Nurse II – Urgent Care (Women’s Hospital)

About the role

The Registered Nurse II provides urgent‑care services in a women’s and children’s hospital, delivering rapid assessment and treatment for obstetric and gynecological emergencies. The role requires close collaboration with physicians, midwives and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate care for patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rapid triage and clinical assessment of patients presenting with urgent obstetric or gynecological conditions.
• Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing, including fetal heart rate monitoring (CTG) when required.
• Provide emergency nursing care for vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, early‑pregnancy complications and postpartum concerns.
• Assist physicians and midwives during emergency procedures and examinations.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and other prescribed treatments accurately.
• Recognise signs of patient deterioration and initiate appropriate emergency protocols.
• Coordinate care with obstetricians, gynecologists, anesthetists and laboratory services.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, follow‑up care and warning signs.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation while ensuring patient safety, dignity and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification with experience in obstetric and gynecological care.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced urgent‑care environment.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritise patients based on severity.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
