Registered Nurse - Long-Term Care

About the role

Provita International Medical Center in Abu Dhabi is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Long-Term Care unit. The nurse provides and coordinates patient care, educates patients and the public about health conditions, and gives advice and emotional support to patients and their families. The role works closely with physicians and other health-care specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients' needs, then implement and monitor their medical plan and treatment
• Perform systematic patient assessments and re-assessments, analyse the data and determine nursing diagnoses, problems and issues
• Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with the patient
• Record vital signs, recognise and escalate abnormalities, and maintain clinical and technical nursing skills
• Administer medications, IV fluids and blood products, and provide wound care
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, and support safe admission, transfer and discharge
• Provide advice and emotional support, and educate patients and the public
• Support business continuity plans and emergency protocols, and take part in performance and quality improvement
• Ensure competence in pain management

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution in the home country
• At least 2 years of clinical experience, including recent work in ICU, critical care, long-term care or equivalent homecare experience
• Valid registered nurse licence in the relevant regulatory authority, with own re-licensure management
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support card
• Willingness to work across departments and clear spoken and written English
• Desirable: evidence of working in an inter-professional team, Arabic communication, and use of an electronic medical record platform
