Registered Nurse - OPD

About the role

Royal Medical Centre Shahama in Abu Dhabi is hiring a Registered Nurse for its OPD. The nurse works within their scope of practice, putting the health, wellbeing and safety of patients first, and coordinates patient care while educating patients and the public about health conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients' needs, perform systematic assessments and re-assessments, and determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes
• Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with patients and their families
• Record vital signs, recognise and escalate abnormalities, and maintain clinical and technical nursing skills
• Perform basic life support and other resuscitation procedures such as BLS, PALS, ACLS and neonatal resuscitation
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, administer medications, injections, immunisations and IV therapies, and give wound care
• Monitor patients for side effects and reactions to treatments such as IV fluids or blood products
• Manage safe patient admission, transfer and discharge, and triage patient calls and messages
• Ensure infection control standards and patient safety practices are followed

Required profile

• A valid license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority, with all required qualifications and experience
• Own responsibility for professional re-licensure
• A valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary
• Clear spoken and written English; Arabic communication is desirable

• Ability to work in an inter-professional team (desirable)
• Use of an electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation (desirable)
