Registered Nurse - Outpatient Department (OPD)

About the role

Royal Medical Center Ras Al Khaimah is hiring a Registered Nurse for its outpatient department (OPD). The nurse works within their scope of practice, placing the health, wellbeing and safety of patients first, and provides coordinated patient care, education and support to patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients' needs, perform systematic assessments and re-assessments, and record vital signs, escalating any abnormalities
• Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, define nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, and educate patients and the public on health conditions
• Administer medications, IV fluids and blood products, and provide wound care and assist in medical procedures
• Perform basic life support and other resuscitation procedures within scope, and prepare patients for examinations and treatment
• Facilitate safe admission, transfer and discharge, and maintain clinical and technical nursing skills

Required profile

• Valid license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant health authority, with the required qualifications and experience
• Own responsibility for professional re-licensure
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support provider card
• Clear spoken and written English; Arabic communication is desirable
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary

Required skills

• Ability to work in an inter-professional team (desirable)
• Use of the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation (desirable)
