Regular or Visiting Faculty – Chemical Engineering (Fall 2027)

About the role

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the American University of Sharjah seeks qualified candidates for regular or visiting faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, starting Fall 2027. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising research, and contributing to departmental growth.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality lectures and labs for Bachelor and Master programs in Chemical, Biological, and related engineering disciplines.
• Develop and maintain an active research agenda, supervise graduate students, and publish scholarly work.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience with a strong portfolio, and evidence of research productivity.
• Preference for candidates with background in Biological or Biomedical Engineering.

Required skills

• Expertise in core chemical and biological engineering concepts and laboratory techniques.
• Familiarity with the American model of higher education, including curriculum design and assessment.
