About the role
The Department of Civil Engineering at the American University of Sharjah seeks qualified candidates for regular or visiting faculty positions at the assistant, associate or full professor level, starting Fall 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an active research program supported by internal and external funding (regular positions).
- Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering and related specialties.
- Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and student mentorship.
Required profile
- PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated teaching experience and a strong teaching portfolio.
- Evidence of research productivity and ability to secure funding (for regular faculty).
- Experience with the American model of higher education is highly desirable.
