Research Manager – Social Research Division (Emirati Talent)

About the role

The Department of Community Development is seeking a senior leader to head its Social Research Division in Abu Dhabi. The role will shape the research agenda, ensure high‑quality outputs and support evidence‑based policy making across the social sector.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the entity’s research vision, priorities and annual roadmap aligned with national and sectoral strategies.
• Oversee flagship studies and thematic programmes addressing critical social challenges.
• Build and sustain partnerships with universities, think‑tanks and international organisations such as OECD, UN agencies.
• Develop innovative funding models, lead proposal development for external grants and establish long‑term financial sustainability for research initiatives.
• Establish governance frameworks, ethical standards and peer‑review processes to ensure scientific rigor and transparency.

Required profile

• Emirati national with a master’s degree in quantitative studies, research, statistics, economics or mathematics (PhD is a plus).
• At least 10 full‑time years of experience in research, quantitative analysis and advanced statistics.
• Current experience in a Research Lead, Head or Manager role.
• Peer‑reviewed publication related to the social sector or a similar field.
• Proven project and team management experience.
