Risk Manager for 5‑Star Hotel Project

About the role

The Risk Manager will establish, implement and manage a comprehensive risk management framework for a 5‑Star hotel development, covering engineering, architectural, construction, contractual, financial, regulatory and HSE domains throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the Project Risk Management Plan in line with ISO 31000 and PMI‑RMP standards, and define risk appetite and response strategies with senior leadership.
• Conduct risk identification workshops, maintain a detailed Risk Register, perform qualitative and quantitative risk analyses, and develop mitigation and contingency plans for high‑critical risks.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly risk status reports, facilitate risk review meetings, track key risk indicators and ensure audit trails for all risk decisions.
• Collaborate with HSE, contractual and financial teams to assess regulatory, safety, contractual and financial risks, and coordinate with insurers for appropriate coverages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture or related field (mandatory); Master’s degree in Project or Risk Management preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of project risk management experience in construction or engineering consultancy, including at least 5 years on large‑scale luxury hospitality projects in the GCC.
• Proven track record managing risks on projects exceeding AED 2 billion and familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with risk management software such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Oracle Risk Management or Active Risk Manager.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and ISO 31000 risk management standards.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative risk analysis, risk register maintenance and development of mitigation plans.
