Rooms Technician

About the role

The Rooms Technician works within the Facilities team at Marriott International in Dubai, ensuring that data and power cabling installations, moves, and upgrades meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate equipment installations, moves, additions, changes, and system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot network data issues, resolve non‑routine problems, and complete trouble tickets within service level agreements.
• Maintain order of data network closets, ensuring compliance with coded standards and efficient work processes.
• Support special events, large moves, and project work as requested, and keep inventory of technology devices and materials up to date.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 3 years of related experience in cabling or facilities support.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or place objects up to 50 lb without assistance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CAT‑5 cabling standards and installation.
• Experience with fiber optic cabling and power cabling capacities.
• Network data troubleshooting and ticket resolution.
