Rotating Equipment Technician

About the role

Energy is looking for a Rotating Equipment Technician who will carry out repair, maintenance and inspection of rotating equipment in the workshop and at customer sites, while complying with safety and quality standards. The role involves stripping down and rebuilding compressors, steam turbines and pumps.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and care for all equipment, tooling and machines used.
• Work independently and assist other technicians in stripping down, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and assembling rotating equipment.
• Strip down and rebuild compressors, steam turbines and pumps.
• Inspect removed parts: dimensional checks, runout measurement, residual magnetism verification, ERO inspection on burnishing areas and visual inspection of components.
• Perform clearance checks on the equipment.
• Record repair work, inventory parts and inform the supervisor of new parts needed.
• Ensure work is completed, inspected and signed off before moving to the next operation.
• Keep the work area clean and safe and contribute to the company's progress against its annual QHSE plan.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 to 8 years of previous experience.
• Advanced skills in compressor and steam turbine repairs.
• Education: ITI in Mechanical Fitters plus NCVT; a diploma in a mechanical discipline is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to travel across the Middle East and GCC countries.
• Light physical effort; sufficient physical ability to work in a workshop environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and understanding of cleaning and preservation.
• Understanding of dimensional checks and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings for rotating equipment.
• Basic understanding of high-pressure hydraulic tooling and rotor concentricity checks.
• Basic knowledge of NDT and good knowledge of codes and regulations for rotating equipment.
• Basic English communication, basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic mathematics.
