Sales Assistant – Retail (Market Hall)

About the role
The Sales Assistant plays a vital part in the IKEA retail operation, ensuring customers receive a welcoming and helpful experience in the market hall area. You will support the shopkeeper with daily operational tasks while driving sales and upholding IKEA’s brand values.
Key responsibilities
- Greet every customer with a smile and create a positive first impression.
- Provide up‑to‑date product information and answer customer queries.
- Meet or exceed weekly sales targets.
- Participate in market hall inventories and follow all IKEA policies.
- Arrange merchandise, maintain floor standards and ensure a clean, organized environment.
- Attend store meetings and other assigned duties.
- Lift stock and stand for at least 8 hours per shift.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year retail sales experience.
- Strong verbal communication and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Physically fit to lift products and stand for long periods.
- Positive, energetic and collaborative mindset.
