Scaffolding Inspector

About the role

Fisher HR is recruiting a Scaffolding Inspector for a full-time position in Abu Dhabi. The inspector checks scaffolding structures against approved drawings, method statements and UAE/Oil & Gas safety standards, and ensures safe erection, alteration and dismantling.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect scaffolding before use, after modification, after adverse conditions and at required intervals
• Check components, access, platforms, guardrails, toe boards, bracing, ties, base plates and foundations, and identify unsafe conditions requiring corrective action or stop-use
• Maintain inspection tags and statuses, and keep checklists, registers and records
• Prepare daily, weekly and incident reports and share findings with HSE and construction teams
• Verify that scaffolding personnel hold the right training, competency and certification
• Take part in toolbox talks, HSE meetings, site inspections and audits, and coordinate with Construction, HSE, QA/QC and other teams

Required profile

• Diploma, technical qualification or equivalent experience in scaffolding, construction, engineering or a related field
• Proven experience as a Scaffolding Inspector on Oil & Gas, EPC, petrochemical, industrial or major construction projects
• Valid and recognised Scaffolding Inspector or competency certification
• Previous UAE/GCC project experience preferred
• Ability to work at height and in demanding site conditions, and to work with multicultural teams

Required skills

• Knowledge of scaffolding inspection requirements, safe erection, access systems, load considerations and fall prevention
• Reading of scaffolding drawings, layouts, method statements and checklists
• Strong reporting and documentation skills
• Understanding of HSE requirements in Oil & Gas environments
