About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher for its middle‑school cohort. The role involves delivering a high‑quality science curriculum, fostering curiosity, and supporting the overall development of students in line with GEMS Core Values.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the required science curriculum for middle‑school students, demonstrating up‑to‑date subject knowledge.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
• Maintain accurate records of curriculum plans, attendance, assessments and teaching resources.
• Assess, record and report on student progress, using assessment data to inform instruction.
• Utilise media and technology effectively within the classroom.
• Promote student well‑being, cultural awareness and a love of learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed of progress while respecting confidentiality.
• Collaborate with colleagues on teaching materials, co‑curricular activities and school events.
• Manage classroom behaviour, encouraging self‑discipline and a safe learning environment.
• Participate in CPD, appraisal processes and school committees.

Required profile

• Skilled teacher with a solid commitment to teaching and learning.
• Strong subject knowledge in science.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with students, parents and staff.
