Senior Accountant – Contracting

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the financial and accounting functions for construction projects and the wider company. This position ensures accurate reporting, cost monitoring, budgeting, cash‑flow management and compliance with UAE statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records in line with company policies and applicable standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and manage month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Support external and internal audits.
• Track project costs, budgets, commitments and expenditures; reconcile costs with BOQ and budgets.
• Prepare project profitability and cost variance reports.
• Manage retention, advance payments and progress billings.
• Assist in preparing annual and project‑specific budgets; monitor cash flows and forecast funding needs.
• Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA or CMA preferred.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in a contracting environment.
