Senior Accountant - Events & Entertainment

About the role

Careers International is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee its financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, reconciliation and compliance. The ideal candidate has prior experience in the events or entertainment industry and understands project-based accounting and vendor/client management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliation and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare financial statements, cash flow projections and monthly management reports.
• Track and report on event-specific budgets, expenses and profitability.
• Ensure accurate invoicing to clients and timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
• Handle VAT filings and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.
• Coordinate with event managers and production teams on project costing.
• Monitor cash flow, forecast expenditures and recommend financial actions.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks and regulatory authorities.
• Oversee junior accounting staff and guide them where necessary.
• Implement and improve internal financial controls and systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA, ACCA or CMA is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the event, media or hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, UAE VAT laws and IFRS.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.

• Accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books or SAP.
• General ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliation and month-end closing.
