Senior Accountant (UAE National)

About the role

A finance team in the UAE is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant who is a UAE national. The role covers key accounting functions, compliance with local tax regulations, accurate financial reporting, and support of budgeting and forecasting. It involves working with stakeholders across the organisation and improving processes while maintaining strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
• Manage general ledger activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries
• Develop and monitor budgeting and forecasting processes
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and corporate tax requirements
• Coordinate external and internal audits and implement audit recommendations
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and risk management procedures
• Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury functions
• Use ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) for financial transactions and reporting
• Work with cross-functional teams to support financial decisions

Required profile

• UAE national
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in the UAE
• Fluent in English; Arabic is preferred
• Preferred: ACCA, CPA or CMA certification, experience in a multinational or corporate environment, and knowledge of UAE labour and corporate regulations
