Senior AI Engineer - AI/Computer Vision

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE and active in defence and emerging technologies, is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join its AI/Computer Vision team. The role develops next-generation AI solutions for real-time, embedded and autonomous systems, combining software engineering and C++ expertise with AI/ML and Computer Vision. It is a hands-on engineering position with the chance to contribute to aerospace and defence programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate AI/ML and Computer Vision solutions for real-time and edge platforms
• Develop algorithms for object detection, tracking, recognition and classification
• Work on video analytics, sensor fusion, navigation and autonomous systems
• Develop production-quality software in C++ and Python
• Deploy and optimise AI models on GPU and edge computing platforms
• Integrate AI solutions with embedded systems, sensors and hardware/software interfaces
• Perform software design, development, integration, testing, verification and debugging
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to system architecture and technical decisions
• Follow established V-model, quality and safety-critical development processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Software Engineering or a related field
• 8-10+ years of hands-on engineering experience
• Experience taking AI/ML solutions from development through integration and production deployment
• Preferred: experience in aerospace, defence, UAV/UGV, robotics or autonomous systems; knowledge of DO-178B, ARP4754 or similar safety-critical standards

Required skills

• C++ and Python
• AI/ML and Computer Vision, including deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Embedded and real-time systems, Linux, Git and Docker
• Preferred: NVIDIA Jetson and GPU optimisation, ROS2, sensor fusion, autonomous navigation or reinforcement learning
