Senior AI Engineer

About the role

Globant is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and deliver advanced AI‑driven solutions for its clients. The role focuses on building intelligent digital experiences, including LLM integration, retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines, and robust agent systems.

Key responsibilities

• Implement intent classification, tool routing, multi‑step reasoning chains, session memory, and structured output parsing for AI agents.
• Develop and maintain deterministic validation layers (Tool Gateway) to enforce policy rules on LLM actions.
• Optimize RAG pipelines: document ingestion, chunking, embedding, vector retrieval, and context injection.
• Build cloud‑native, containerized services with horizontal scalability and graceful degradation for upstream API failures.
• Implement observability through distributed tracing, structured logging, and metric instrumentation.
• Design event‑driven systems on Kafka with sub‑second latency and idempotent consumers/producers.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript with clean, testable code.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, fault tolerance, and API design (REST/GraphQL) in regulated environments.
• Hands‑on experience building LLM‑based systems, RAG components, tool‑calling mechanisms, and AI safety features.
• Experience creating automated evaluation pipelines for non‑deterministic AI behavior.
• Proficiency with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
