Senior Architect (Airport Projects)

About the role

The Senior Architect will lead the design and coordination of large‑scale airport projects from concept through completion. Reporting to the Head of Architecture, you will ensure that all deliverables meet international codes, client requirements, and the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design delivery, overseeing concept development, detailed design, and project hand‑over.
• Ensure all drawings, specifications and documentation comply with relevant International Codes and Standards.
• Coordinate technical deliverables across all disciplines and with external sub‑consultants.
• Act as Design Coordinator, conducting independent design reviews and managing meeting minutes and reports.
• Plan and track coordination activities to meet project schedules.
• Participate in resource allocation with senior management and communicate project status to the team.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years total experience, including at least 5 years on airport projects.
• BArch or equivalent degree; UAE Society of Engineers membership (Abu Dhabi licence required).
• Proven experience leading teams and delivering large‑scale projects.
• International accreditation (RIBA, AIA) and sustainability certification (LEED, PQP) are preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of statutory authority requirements, international codes, fire & life safety, and sustainable design principles.
