Senior Architect

About the role

WSP Middle East is looking for a Senior Architect to join its Technical Architecture Team within the Property & Buildings Business Unit in Sharjah, UAE. The role focuses on delivering complex, high‑profile projects across sectors such as commercial, mixed‑use, hospitality, residential, healthcare, education, aviation and public‑sector developments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery of architectural projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare, review and coordinate detailed design packages, drawings, specifications and construction documents.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, international codes and project‑specific requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, MEP, landscape, interior design and specialist consultants.
• Support BIM implementation and coordinate technical design across projects.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs and construction‑stage technical queries.
• Drive quality assurance, design consistency and mentor junior architects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of professional architectural experience with a strong technical design focus.
• Experience in a leading architecture, engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous experience on Middle‑East projects is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Strong knowledge of BIM workflows.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD.
• Experience producing construction documentation.
