Senior Architect – Lead Design & Coordination

About the role

The Senior Architect will lead the design and coordination of complex building projects for WSP in the United Arab Emirates, translating architectural concepts into high‑quality, buildable solutions that satisfy client and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design proposals and oversee the preparation of drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Review design documents for compliance with UAE building codes, constructability and client expectations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including structural, MEP and specialist consultants.
• Participate in client meetings, present design options, incorporate feedback and support approvals with local authorities.
• Mentor junior architects, provide technical guidance and contribute to team design standards.

Required profile

• Strong architectural design and conceptual development experience on complex commercial, residential or mixed‑use projects.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept through detailed design and tender stages.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with experience presenting to clients and authorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred) and eligibility for membership in a recognized professional body.
• Previous experience on large‑scale projects in the Middle East or similar regions.
