Senior Backend Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join a globally distributed engineering team focused on advanced digital finance and blockchain-powered solutions. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining high‑performance backend services that power financial platforms used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for financial platforms.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust technical architectures.
• Improve existing Node.js services for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Implement new backend solutions and integrations using RPC calls within microservice architectures.
• Write and optimise complex queries for relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Drive platform scalability initiatives to ensure real‑time responsiveness.
• Apply security best practices to protect infrastructure, transactions, and user data.
• Participate in Agile processes, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js backend development.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design.
• Experience building and maintaining large‑scale platforms.
• Proficiency with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of backend security concepts and secure API development.
• Experience with high‑availability systems and scalability optimisation.
