Senior Cloud and DevOps Engineer - Azure Applications

About the role

BlackStone eIT is looking for a Senior Cloud and DevOps Engineer to own Azure application environments, deployment automation, monitoring and operational reliability for the Chamber's digital platforms. The role works with Technical Support and security teams on shared infrastructure, connectivity, protection and recovery requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain development, UAT and production environments for web applications, APIs, CMS and supporting services.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Next.js, React, Node.js.NET and Strapi applications.
• Maintain repeatable infrastructure configuration, version-controlled changes and environment consistency.
• Implement deployment checks, approval controls, rollback procedures and release traceability.
• Set up application health checks, logs, dashboards and alerts, and investigate production incidents.
• Configure application identities, access controls, certificates and secrets management with security owners.
• Assess scaling, resource utilization and availability needs and implement agreed improvements.
• Monitor cloud expenditure, identify waste and recommend capacity and configuration changes.
• Coordinate application and database backups with Technical Support and validate recovery procedures.
• Maintain environment inventories, deployment guides, runbooks and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in cloud/DevOps engineering, including at least 3 years operating production applications on Azure.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting Node.js, Next.js.NET and headless CMS applications.
• Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, RBAC, DNS, TLS, private endpoints and application connectivity.
• Experience supporting SQL Server and PostgreSQL deployment and connectivity, including backup and recovery coordination.
• Demonstrated incident diagnosis, root-cause analysis, monitoring and recovery-testing experience.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator or DevOps Engineer certification preferred.
• Ability to coordinate developers, vendors, Technical Support and security teams with clear operational ownership.

Required skills

• Azure: App Service, Functions, Storage/Blob, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Application Insights; API Management and Service Bus preferred.
• CI/CD: Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions, including secure deployment and rollback.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or Bicep.
• Containers: Docker; Kubernetes preferred where relevant.
• Scripting: PowerShell, Bash or Python for operational automation.
