Senior Control Software Engineer

About the role

Senior Control Software Engineer at Edge’s POWERTECH centre, focusing on jet engine control system development for aerospace and defence applications.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze jet engine system requirements and define control system requirements.
• Develop control laws and algorithms for fuel metering, speed/thrust governing, and limit protection.
• Create system, plant, and controller models in Simulink/MATLAB and run simulations.
• Develop and integrate control logic for start‑up, shutdown, and transient/steady‑state modes.
• Validate and verify control system requirements, including MIL, SIL, HIL, and engine tests.
• Generate and review auto‑generated code (Embedded Coder) and ensure MISRA compliance.
• Maintain requirements traceability across system, control, and software levels.
• Prepare design documentation and collaborate with performance, software, and mechanical teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Control, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical/Electronics, or Software Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in jet engine control system projects.
• Strong knowledge of control theory (closed‑loop, PID, state‑space, frequency‑domain analysis).
• Understanding of jet engine dynamics, sensors, and actuators.
• Experience with model‑based design workflows and requirements engineering.
• Familiarity with aviation certification processes and test environments (MIL/SIL/HIL).
• Proficiency with Embedded Coder auto‑code generation and MISRA compliance.
