Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team in the UAE. The role focuses on monitoring project and production costs, analysing financial performance, and supporting cost‑control initiatives across construction and manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and analyse cost structures, budgets, forecasts and variance reports.
• Perform cost allocation, job costing, project costing, production costing and profitability analysis.
• Monitor and control material, labour, equipment, overhead, project and operational costs.
• Track work‑in‑progress, inventory valuation and allocate direct and indirect costs.
• Identify cost variances, inefficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare detailed cost, profitability and management reports.
• Support month‑end closing with cost accounting entries, accruals, reconciliations and provisions.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, production, project and site teams to ensure accurate cost recording.
• Maintain cost and accounting records in Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) and ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of cost‑accounting and cost‑control experience, preferably in UAE construction or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT and corporate tax regulations.
• Professional accounting qualification (CMA, ACCA, CPA or CA) is an advantage.
• High analytical, reporting and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
