Senior Data Engineer – End-to-End Data Delivery

About the role

Presight is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own end‑to‑end data delivery, from source‑system analysis through data modelling, pipeline engineering and analytics enablement. The role combines data engineering, architecture leadership and analytical curiosity within a multicultural, multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the complete data lifecycle – requirements, sourcing, architecture, modelling, pipeline engineering, quality and delivery of analytics‑ready data.
• Define target‑state data architecture, lake/warehouse/lakehouse designs and automated data‑load tooling.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable batch and real‑time streaming pipelines across databases, applications, files and event streams.
• Implement orchestration, scheduling, logging, alerting, retry and monitoring frameworks.
• Apply software‑engineering best practices – version control, code review, automated testing and CI/CD for data assets.
• Establish enterprise data‑architecture standards, naming conventions, documentation and metadata management.
• Partner with IT and data owners to catalogue data, ensure lineage, quality and compliance.
• Interpret data using statistical techniques to surface actionable insights and support reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in data engineering, architecture, modelling and analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• Proven delivery of enterprise‑scale data pipelines in production.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure data stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks/Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL) – mandatory.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Data modelling (star and snowflake schemas), ETL/ELT design, data integration and workflow orchestration.
• Big data processing, distributed compute optimisation and data lake/lakehouse architecture.
• Version control, CI/CD, data observability and quality practices.
• Statistical analysis and data visualisation for self‑service reporting.
