Senior Desktop Software Engineer

About the role

The Senior Desktop Software Engineer will lead the development and maintenance of a Ground Control Station (GCS) application using the Qt Framework and QML. This role involves full‑lifecycle development, from design through deployment, in a safety‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise high‑performance GUI components for the GCS using Qt and QML.
• Collaborate with hardware and embedded teams to integrate software with networked components and perform integration testing.
• Document architecture, design decisions, and requirements; produce user guides and technical documentation.
• Write and maintain unit tests, ensure coding standards, and support continuous integration pipelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience (or 7+ years with a Master’s).
• At least 5 years of hands‑on C++ development, with strong expertise in Qt and GUI applications.
• Experience working with large, complex codebases and safety‑critical standards such as DO‑178C or ISO 26262.

Required skills

• C++ and object‑oriented programming.

• Networking protocols: TCP, UDP, IP.
• Embedded communication: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet.
