Senior Director Facilities Management

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Facilities Management to lead the facilities operations of a prestigious group of hospitals in Abu Dhabi. This executive role oversees planning, maintenance, operations, compliance, safety, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, efficient, patient‑centered environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for facilities management across multiple hospitals.
• Develop and implement long‑term facilities strategies aligned with organizational and healthcare objectives.
• Oversee engineering services, building maintenance, utilities, environmental support services, and infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, healthcare accreditation, and international safety and sustainability standards.
• Lead capital planning, renovation, expansion, and modernization projects.
• Develop and manage operational and capital budgets, driving cost efficiency.
• Establish preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to maximise asset performance.
• Drive sustainability, energy management, and environmental stewardship initiatives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical teams, and external stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing facilities teams across locations.
• Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and outsourced service providers.
• Maintain emergency preparedness, business continuity, and risk management programmes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10–15 years progressive facilities management experience, preferably in hospitals or large complex organisations.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi‑site facilities operations.
• Proven experience managing large budgets, capital projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and facilities compliance.
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, operational excellence and change management.
