Senior Director of Public Affairs

About the role

As CargoX expands its autonomous delivery fleet across the UAE, we are seeking a Senior Director of Public Affairs to shape and lead our engagement with government, regulators, and the public. You will own the relationships that enable the company’s growth, working directly with authorities, municipalities and master developers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead CargoX’s public affairs strategy across federal and emirate‑level government, regulators and key public stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with UAE transport and innovation authorities, including the RTA (Dubai), ITC (Abu Dhabi), TDRA and relevant municipal and federal bodies.
• Engage on regulatory frameworks, permits and licensing for autonomous ground delivery and help shape emerging policies.
• Support approvals and operating permissions needed to launch and expand the fleet into new zones, communities and emirates.
• Partner with operations, legal, product and technology teams to align external commitments with on‑ground delivery.
• Represent CargoX at government forums, innovation summits and industry engagements.
• Develop relationships with master developers and community authorities to open new operating environments.
• Shape the public narrative around autonomous delivery, addressing safety and integration concerns.
• Monitor regulatory developments, competitor positioning and policy signals, advising the business accordingly.

Required profile

• Experience in public affairs, government relations, regulatory affairs or policy, preferably in a regulated or emerging‑technology sector.
• Proven track record of securing approvals, influencing policy or building government relationships that drive commercial outcomes.
• Familiarity with UAE transport and innovation authorities (RTA, ITC, TDRA) and the credibility to build strong relationships.
• Comfort operating in environments where regulations are still evolving, providing clarity and structure.
• Strong executive presence to represent CargoX credibly to senior officials and regulators.
• Background in one or more areas such as transport and autonomous systems regulation, logistics and last‑mile delivery, smart cities and urban planning, emerging‑tech policy, or communications and reputation management.
• Ability to align internal teams behind a shared external strategy.
