Senior Engineer Contracts

About the role

ADNOC Group is looking for a Senior Engineer Contracts in Abu Dhabi to provide centralized contract development activities that meet the Company's contracting needs in a cost-effective, timely and efficient way. The role handles complex, high-value contracts, advises users on contractual and commercial matters and manages claims and variations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan contracting activities for each tender, review contracting strategies and tendering procedures, and compile accurate tender documents covering technical, contractual, commercial, financial and legal aspects.
• Consult Finance and Legal on standard form contracts and deviations from standard terms, and prepare forms for opening priced and unpriced bids.
• Take part in bid negotiations, conduct techno-commercial evaluations of bids and recommend the shortlisted contractor.
• Prepare the Letter of Award, execute the agreement and advise users on contract interpretation, management and closeout.
• Evaluate claims and requests for contract variations and maintain follow-up until closeout.
• Prepare and register contracts in SAP, coordinate the final contract document with the End User, and manage the issuance of signed contracts to contractors.
• Prepare the kick-off checklist for the appointed contractor and track contract duration, reminders for optional years and extensions, and completion certificates.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline.
• 8 or more years of experience in contracts development and administration in the oil and gas sector.
• FRICS certification (Full Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) is preferable.

Required skills

• Technical understanding of drafting, reviewing and finalizing contracts and the tendering process.
• Good knowledge of regulations, controls and legal guidelines.
• Experience in conflict avoidance and contract dispute resolution.
