Senior Engineer - Microwave Design

About the role

EDGE is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Microwave Design for its Halcon business unit, based in Abu Dhabi. The engineer leads the design, development, integration and validation of advanced microwave and RF subsystems for radar and military applications, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineering teams and ensuring compliance with technical standards and system requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of microwave circuits, RF front-ends and high-frequency subsystems for radar and defence applications.
• Perform electromagnetic modelling, RF simulation, performance analysis and design optimisation to meet system requirements.
• Plan and execute RF testing, subsystem integration, troubleshooting, verification and qualification activities.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct design reviews and mentor engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in RF, microwave, radar or high-frequency system engineering.
• Preferred: experience in defence, aerospace, airborne radar, electronic warfare or military communication systems.
• Preferred: prior experience leading technical teams, engineering reviews, integration activities and qualification programs.
• English proficiency required.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in microwave subsystem design, including RF front-ends, amplifiers, filters, mixers, oscillators and frequency synthesizers.
• Proficiency with RF design and simulation tools such as ADS, CST/HFSS, AWR, MATLAB and C/C++.
