Senior Engineer, Power Electronics

About the role

EDGE is seeking a Senior Engineer, Power Electronics for its Halcon business unit, based in Abu Dhabi. The role supports the design, development, testing and optimisation of advanced power electronics products and subsystems, focusing on high-frequency power conversion, motor drives, analog power electronics and embedded motion control systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products from concept through verification and qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop power electronics subsystems, including high-frequency power converters, motor drives and analog power products.
• Develop and implement embedded closed-loop control solutions to achieve the required system performance and reliability.
• Perform simulation, validation, testing and optimisation of power electronics designs using industry-standard engineering tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design reviews, technical documentation and product verification.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in power electronics engineering, specialising in high-frequency power conversion and motion control systems.
• Preferred: experience in defence, aerospace or other safety-critical engineering industries.
• Preferred: experience with embedded firmware development and power electronics certification or compliance standards.
• English proficiency is required for all roles.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of analog, digital and embedded control systems, including product design, integration and verification.
• Proficiency with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Altium and other power electronics design and simulation tools.
