Senior Engineer - Rocket Propulsion

About the role

The Senior Propulsion Engineer will lead the development, design, manufacturing, and testing of rocket propulsion subsystems, bridging technical leadership with project management. You will mentor junior engineers, guide system engineering decisions, and deliver complex propulsion programmes from concept through qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test rocket propulsion systems, applying thermodynamic, fluid‑dynamic and structural principles across the full engineering cycle.
• Lead propulsion projects at system‑engineering level, managing technical interfaces, design reviews and verification activities to meet milestones on time and within budget.
• Define system requirements, maintain baseline documentation and ensure configuration control throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Support additive manufacturing, laser welding, milling and heat‑treatment activities, collaborating with manufacturing teams to resolve non‑conformances.
• Advise on PLM software implementation, driving process standardisation and data integrity across design, manufacturing and testing phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in rocket propulsion development, including solid rocket motor data pack creation for missile applications.

Required skills

• Solid rocket motor development and data‑pack preparation.
• Additive manufacturing, laser welding, milling and heat‑treatment processes.
