Senior Engineer – Special Processes

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Special Processes will lead the development, qualification, and industrialization of critical aerospace special processes for Powertech’s propulsion programs, supporting turbofan, microjet, and piston engines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of special processes such as shot peening, thermal spray coatings, heat treatment, brazing, surface preparation, cleaning, and chemical processing.
• Define manufacturing routings, process specifications, work instructions, control plans and acceptance criteria, and establish statistical monitoring for stable production.
• Support greenfield capability development, equipment specification, facility layout, supplier selection and technology transfer.
• Drive NPI activities from prototype to production readiness, ensuring process alignment with schedules, quality and certification.
• Provide technical input during design reviews, material selection and tolerance allocation, and mitigate manufacturing risks.
• Oversee supplier technical support, audits, qualification and process improvement.
• Mentor and guide special process engineers and technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 8+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience with strong background in special process development and industrialization.
• Proven experience in New Product Introduction, process qualification and production ramp‑up.
• Ability to work collaboratively with design, quality, operations, supply chain and equipment vendors.
