Senior Engineer – Test Equipment

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking a Senior Engineer – Mechatronics to lead the design, development, integration and deployment of advanced electronic test equipment and automated test solutions for defence and aerospace systems. The role bridges product development and production, ensuring quality, validation and qualification compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain electronic test equipment, test jigs and automated solutions for PCB assemblies and subsystem testing.
• Develop firmware and software applications using multiple programming languages and tools to support test automation and product validation.
• Interpret technical specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and test requirements to create effective hardware and software test interfaces.
• Lead mechatronics projects, participate in design reviews, mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in testing, validation and systems integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 12 years (Bachelor's) or 8 years (Master's) of experience in electronics, aerospace, defence or test equipment development.
• Strong background in electronics design, embedded systems and hardware/software integration.

Required skills

• Experience with MCUs, FPGAs and firmware development.
• Software programming for test automation and validation.
• Development of automated test equipment (ATE), production test systems and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) solutions.
• Proficiency with engineering development tools and automated test systems.
