Senior Executive Vice President – Compliance (IBG)

About the role

The Senior Executive Vice President – Compliance (IBG) leads the implementation of international regulatory recommendations and ensures the bank’s sanctions and embargo controls are up‑to‑date. The role supports business units by providing compliant solutions, identifying strategic risks, and safeguarding the bank from regulatory investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement recommendations from bodies such as the United Nations, European Union, FATF, Basel and Wolfsberg.
• Maintain and update the bank’s sanctions matrix for OFAC, EU, UN and other regimes.
• Provide compliant solutions to business, intervene to stop non‑compliant transactions, and process business proposals in line with regulatory requirements.
• Assure management that branch processes and controls meet regulatory standards.
• Proactively escalate critical compliance issues to prevent investigations, fines or reputational damage.
• Assist business in obtaining regulatory approvals for new branches, product launches, outsourcing, mergers and acquisitions.
• Participate in bank‑wide compliance projects, conduct special investigations and reviews.
• Roll out compliance systems and initiatives across IBG branches according to head‑office guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of international sanctions, embargos and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to assess strategic risks and provide timely compliance solutions.
• Proactive attitude in escalating and resolving critical compliance matters.
• Experience supporting regulatory approval processes for banking initiatives.
