Senior Field Technician

About the role

The Senior Field Technician provides onsite and remote technical support within a hospital environment, ensuring clinical and non‑clinical IT systems remain available, reliable, and performant. This role is critical to maintaining uninterrupted patient care workflows and supporting the Centre’s advanced health technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver onsite IT support to clinical and non‑clinical staff, resolving technical issues promptly.
• Support and troubleshoot Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, preferably Cerner, and other healthcare applications.
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade end‑user devices such as workstations, laptops, tablets, printers, and scanners.
• Assist with integrated medical devices, coordinating with vendors and application teams to resolve issues.
• Perform basic network and infrastructure support, including connectivity, Wi‑Fi, and access‑related troubleshooting.
• Contribute to IT projects, facility expansions, system rollouts, user training, and go‑live activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation, asset inventories, and ensure compliance with IT policies, data‑privacy standards, and healthcare regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of direct user‑support experience in a multi‑system environment, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Experience supporting clinical applications and medical devices is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Cerner or other EMR systems.
• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows workstations, laptops, tablets, printers, and scanners.
• Integration and troubleshooting of medical devices.
• Basic network connectivity and Wi‑Fi troubleshooting.
• Asset inventory management and documentation.
