Senior HPC Engineer

About the role

Core42 is seeking a Senior HPC Engineer to design, implement, deploy and operate high‑performance computing infrastructure supporting AI/ML and specialized industry workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain HPC clusters including compute, storage, InfiniBand and high‑speed Ethernet networks.
• Configure and manage job scheduling platforms (LSF preferred, with Slurm/PBS exposure).
• Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server and virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi/vSAN, Citrix, VxRail, KVM).
• Support storage solutions such as IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS), DDN GridScaler and NetApp SAN/NAS.
• Monitor system health with Zabbix, Grafana and perform advanced troubleshooting.
• Develop automation scripts in Shell and Python to improve operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in HPC operations, systems and network engineering.
• Strong background in Linux administration and enterprise data‑center infrastructure.
