Senior Instrument Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Senior Instrument Maintenance Technician is responsible for supervising and executing the installation, maintenance, commissioning, and repair of electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and analytical instruments and control systems across operating areas. The role ensures compliance with HSE guidelines, operating procedures, and the Permit to Work system while leading a team of technicians, fitters and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and analytical instruments and control systems.
• Supervise and participate in ESD system testing, plant shutdowns and commissioning of new plant.
• Oversee workshop facilities, test equipment and ensure proper use and maintenance.
• Lead and monitor assigned technicians, fitters and contractors to guarantee safe and timely work.
• Troubleshoot minor control issues and report major discrepancies for prompt resolution.
• Manage spare parts inventory, forecast future requirements and arrange procurement of tools and equipment.
• Verify maintenance records, fault reports, log books and alarm/trip indexes for accurate tracking.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising technical teams in an industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of HSE policies, emergency response procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Ability to plan and execute maintenance tasks within defined time standards.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to housekeeping standards.
