Senior Interior Designer

About the role

The Senior Interior Designer leads the design process from concept to completion, collaborating with clients, architects and contractors to create functional and innovative interior spaces. The role also includes mentoring other designers, ensuring design integrity and delivering projects on time and within budget. The position is based in the head office, though site visits may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Guide the design process from pre-concept through completion, keeping it aligned with client goals, project requirements and the timeline.
• Develop and present design concepts, including mood boards, sketches and digital renderings.
• Create detailed floor plans, elevations and 3D models, and prepare technical drawings and specifications for construction and installation.
• Incorporate client and team feedback into design revisions and implement quality control.
• Select materials, finishes, furnishings and colour palettes that meet aesthetic, functional and budgetary needs.
• Work with architects, engineers and other consultants to integrate interiors with the overall building design.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations and industry standards.
• Build and maintain client relationships, conduct client presentations and manage project timelines, budgets and resources.
• Mentor junior designers, encourage a collaborative environment, and conduct site visits and inspections.
• Stay current with design trends, materials and technologies and attend industry events and seminars.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in interior design with a strong portfolio.
• Experience on large-scale projects, including preferred experience in healthcare, residential and commercial design.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Preferred: familiarity with sustainable design practices and materials, and the ability to network within the industry.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and rendering software.
• Strong understanding of building codes, regulations and sustainable design practices.
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects at once.
