Senior Interior Designer - Technical

About the role

An established property developer in the UAE is looking for an experienced Manager - Interior Design (Technical) to lead the technical development and delivery of interior design packages for residential developments. The role turns approved design concepts into detailed, coordinated, construction-ready documentation while keeping design intent, quality, buildability and cost in line. It works closely with architects, engineering consultants, contractors, procurement teams and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Translate approved interior design concepts into detailed technical packages, including drawings, FF&E specifications, material schedules and typical details
• Review shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups and design documentation against approved design intent
• Coordinate interior layouts with architectural plans, MEP services, structural requirements and authority regulations
• Lead coordination with architecture, MEP, structural, landscape, cost consultants and contractors, and manage design revisions
• Maintain interior design standards and quality benchmarks across residential units and common areas
• Prepare and review tender documentation, evaluate vendor proposals and support cost control and value engineering
• Monitor site progress, resolve technical design issues, and validate as-built drawings and final finishes
• Ensure compliance with building codes, fire and life safety regulations, accessibility guidelines and sustainability requirements
• Act as a key coordination point for internal teams, consultants, contractors and client-side project managers, and prepare project updates, trackers, risk registers and reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related discipline; Master's degree or specialized certification in Interior Design
• Approximately 8-10 years of relevant interior design experience, or 7-12 years overall with at least 5 years in technical interior design for residential developments
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and managing technical design deliverables
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, joinery, finishes, material specifications and performance
• Ability to manage multiple design packages, competing priorities and tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail
