Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer

About the role

Oivan is seeking an experienced Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join its team in the UAE. You will design, build, operate and troubleshoot enterprise‑grade Kubernetes platforms, including GPU‑enabled clusters for AI/ML workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and operate production RKE2 clusters across on‑premise, air‑gapped and hybrid environments.
• Deploy and manage SUSE Rancher Manager in high‑availability mode, handling upgrades, backups, authentication, RBAC and downstream cluster provisioning.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and Ansible and build CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for platform and application delivery.
• Deploy the NVIDIA GPU Operator on RKE2, configure drivers, device plugins, GPU sharing (MIG, time‑slicing) and support AI/ML workloads.
• Implement GitOps using Rancher Fleet, Argo CD or Flux and manage workloads with Helm and Kustomize.
• Deploy and operate Istio service mesh, including traffic management, mTLS, and mesh troubleshooting.
• Set up monitoring, logging and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and Rancher Monitoring and Logging.
• Harden clusters with CIS benchmarks, Pod Security Admission, network policies and secrets management.
• Plan and execute upgrades, design backup and disaster‑recovery strategies and maintain runbooks and documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years administering Kubernetes in production.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across nodes, pods, CNI, DNS, storage, certificates and control‑plane components.
• Hands‑on experience with SUSE Rancher Manager, NVIDIA GPU Operator and Istio.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and Linux administration (SLES, RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Advanced English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
